Research has shown that regular physical activity can have a tremendous effect on daily and long term health. As fitness professionals we promote physical activity for all Canadians. A challenge for many fitness & health professionals is understanding how to modify regular physical activity for pre & post natal women.
What does the course cover?
This program provides an in-depth look at the current research into exercise and pregnancy to help you understand the rationale for guidelines for fitness. After you learn the physical changes that pregnancy creates, the practical component of the course teaches ways to develop appropriate exercises classes and personalized prescriptions for pregnant and postpartum women.
Who can take the course?
Certified Personal Trainers, Group Fitness Instructors (land or water), Massage Therapists, Physiotherapist, Birth Educators and other Medical Practitioners.
